DandL CREATIONS JANUARY NEWSLETTER

The Holiday Season is over and it's the start of another New Year.

Our 25th Anniversary......On December 19, Lucy and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary - gosh how time flies...especially when you are so busy!! In July, we took a two-week vacation back East visiting my sister along with my nieces and nephews scattered between New Jersey and Massachusetts. We drove up to Maine and while we were there, we (actually, 'they'------I'm allergic to shellfish) had lobster a couple times. We stopped at Beals near Acadia National Park at the suggestion of my sister, who claimed (among others) that it was the best lobster in the world. President Bush had ordered his lobster from here. My wife and son also thought it was quite delicious. So, a couple days before our Anniversary, we ordered 4 lobsters to be shipped to us from Beals. It was to be a very special meal. They shipped them 'overnight express' in a cool, styrofoam container. We received them on Friday and on Saturday, Lucy threw them in the pot and heated them up.

PRODUCTS

ROSARIES...Lucy has been truly amazing with her ideas. In December, we found a good supplier of religious charms and cruxifixes and she has been busy putting together a variety of rosaries. Using czech beads, semi-precious and other glass beads, she has done some really beautiful work with our newest product. They will be priced accordingly, beginning at $17.95 and up, depending upon the style and quality of beads and charms. We are expecting to sell large qualtities. These rosaries are truly hand-made. Not only has she strung up the beads and charms, but she has also created the links that you see between the beads. She is truly one, very talented lady!!! These are already selling fast. I don't even have time to put them up in the website.

DRAGONS. We are currently working on several ideas for new products this year. One of my favorite product lines are Dragons and we have some pretty interesting designs coming out in the next month or two. You're going to love them and you will be able to see them on our new 'Dragons, Demons and Dinosaurs' page of the website...also they will premiere in Cupertino at their Cherry Blossom Festival..

By the middle part of March, I expect to have a line of clocks/desk sets made up. We have some nice designs in mind right now and we are in the process of getting the right supplies. It takes time, especially when you are so busy and have to go looking around for what you want.

I've done a lot of stained glasswork over the past several years and have brought a lot of my work to shows. I've done a lot of the windows in my house and have sold quite a bit of my work. At the present time, I've been doing a lot of smaller things, such as candle holders, etc., which I will begin selling in April.

ARIZONA GEM SHOWS. It's that time of year again when a lot of wholesalers pack up and head south for the Gem Shows in Arizona. On Friday, January 15, we drove to Palm Springs and the following day, went to Quartzsite for one of our "buying sprees." The shows in Arizona last until the middle of February, but we decided to hit Quartzsite early for some good buys. We'll be going to the Tucson shows in early February. Since this was the first weekend, we found that several of our suppliers there had not arrived as of Saturday. We first went to Cloud's Jamboree and then crossed the highway to Tyson Wells. There were a lot of good dealers around and we made major purchases of beads, jewelry, etc. We stocked up on amethyst, quartz, petrified wood and Brazilian Agate, which we intend on using in many of our products, as you will see in the forthcoming months.
